How you can achieve almost DOUBLE YOUR MONEY selling directly to us rather than through an auction:

Let's say you have a collection we would like to buy for £500, and it is coming up for sale in an auction we are attending or covering online or through an auction agent. We do cover most auctions on a daily basis so are well versed in this. Our maximum bid in the room or on-line can only be £380, because the 25% buyers premium (more in some cases) plus the VAT and associated expenses then brings the cost up towards the £500. If the item hammers out at £380, you will be lucky to receive a cheque for £270 after deduction of commissions, VAT and expenses, storage fees, insurance etc. And that is assuming your lot sells for our maximum bid. In most cases we manage to buy at auction for well below, and on occasions very substantially below the maximum we were prepared to pay. Further, auction houses are slow payers and take at least 30 days (sometimes 45 days to pay you), and they only pay when they get paid. If a winning bidder reneges on his bid you receive nothing. So it makes sense to deal direct and get paid on the spot in full.
